Job summary

Foresight Data Machines seeks a Forward Deployed Engineer to work on site with customers in heavy industries. You’ll understand manufacturing problems, design solutions, and implement across the full tech stack, effectively acting as the deployment CTO.

Expect hands-on prototyping, rapid iteration, and close collaboration with designers, engineers, and commercial teams. Based in Austin, TX, you’ll travel 25–75% and relocate if needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field such as engineering, physics, math, CS.
• Fluency in programming languages including Python, C/C++, Go, Typescript or Java.
• Interest and aptitude for product design.

Responsibilities

• On-site work with customers in heavy industries to understand problems.
• Analyse data, build models, write frontend and backend code, and automate infrastructure.
• Build prototypes, iterate quickly, and consolidate successful solutions into robust software.
• Collaborate with designers, engineers, and commercial teams on site and back in the office.
