Job summary

Ruppert Landscape is seeking a Field Manager (G49) in Richmond, VA to lead landscape maintenance operations. You will supervise crews, schedule work, manage budgets, and ensure safety and quality across projects while fostering strong client relationships.

The role requires a safety-first mindset, relevant horticulture education or experience, and ability to train and develop field teams. A valid license and English communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Safety regulations adherence and safe work practices.
• Associate or Bachelor in horticulture or related field preferred; equivalent industry experience a plus.
• Valid driver''s license with a clean driving record over the past three years (required).
• Proven ability to lead, manage, and develop field teams across multiple levels.
• Ability to diagnose common insect and plant disease issues and coordinate treatment plans.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly in English.
• Demonstrated success in building and maintaining positive client relationships.
• Solid working knowledge of vehicles, tools, and equipment used in landscape maintenance and snow removal.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and oversee daily production activities for maintenance contracts.
• Lead, hire, train, and grow team members with coaching and training sessions.
• Monitor labor, budgets, production hours, and costs to keep projects on track.
• Monitor work quality daily and ensure inspections and service reports are completed.
• Drive additional revenue by identifying opportunities for enhancements.
• Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships to ensure satisfaction and renewals.
• Understand operating philosophy and improve efficiency, productivity, and customer value.
• Ensure vehicles and equipment are safely and properly maintained.
