Job summary

Ruppert Landscape is seeking an Assistant Field Manager to support field operations and lead crew development. This role focuses on managing labor and material in the field to complete contracts, ensuring work is within budgeted hours, and maintaining safety and quality standards.

You will collaborate with branch managers to meet overall goals. The ideal candidate has applicable horticultural experience, a valid driver’s license, and a commitment to training and crew development.

Qualifications

• As this is a field management role, experience in contract maintenance in a commercial setting is required.
• Horticultural or related degree is preferred; certifications can substitute for a degree.
• Ability to identify insects and diseases and schedule appropriate treatment.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record over the last three years.

Responsibilities

• Develop an understanding of branch goals and financial position.
• Get to know team members and help them develop within the company.
• Attend or conduct certification training sessions on a regular basis.
• Plan, schedule and supervise daily production activities on assigned contracts.
• Understand hourly and cost budgets; monitor hours and costs; communicate budgets to crew.
• Monitor work quality and address customer issues by inspecting daily work.
• Maintain assigned vehicle and equipment in good working order.
