Job summary

Glass Roots Construction (GRC) is seeking a Construction Manager to lead underground utility projects from inception to completion in the Reno area. You will drive project profitability, client relationships, and operational excellence while mentoring field teams.

This leadership role requires proactive problem solving, deep civil construction knowledge, and a commitment to safety and quality. You will collaborate with the Director of Operations and field crews, 75% in the field, with occasional

Qualifications

At least 3 years' experience with directional drilling crews in utility construction.
Proven supervisory experience.
Ability to read, interpret, and adjust construction drawings/prints.
Valid driver's license required.
Experience with Environmental Monitors, DOT/OSHA, municipalities and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Operational Oversight: Manage day-to-day construction activities of a fiber optic utility network.
Compliance & Safety: Ensure safe and quality construction practices with internal and subcontract crews.
Field Engagement: Spend about 75% of time in the field with crews.
Field Verification: Verify progress using a utility locator to identify depth and offsets.
Data Collection: Gather pictures, bore logs, and other data for Quality Control.
Quality Assurance: Apply quality metrics to ensure finished work meets specs.
Flexibility: Willing to work night shifts on a rotation.
