Job summary

UGI Utilities, Inc. is seeking an entry-level field support position in the Shippensburg area. The role involves meter reading, flagging, and basic construction tasks with supervision, and will progress through an Operator Qualification plan toward Journeyman level.

The candidate must live in the service area and obtain a CDL A within six months. A safety-focused, hands-on training environment with on-call duties as qualified is offered.

Qualifications

• Candidate must pass SCBA test, pre-employment drug test, and physical.
• Must follow all safety policies and protect company assets.
• General computer knowledge and safe driving history required.
• Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Knowledge of equipment operation and pipeline construction is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read residential and commercial meters and record readings with handheld devices.
• Survey and flagging duties.
• Gas main service installations and repairs.
• Operate backhoe, trencher and dump truck.
• Locate lines and manage inventory.
• Perform meter turns on/off and leak investigations.
• Carry out basic pipefitting tasks.
• Respond to emergencies when qualified.
• Perform other work as directed once qualified.
• Work in confined spaces.
