Job summary

TaskForce Prevention and Community Services is seeking a Community Health Worker- Phlebotomy to support HIV and STI prevention and treatment services. The role involves outreach in non-traditional settings, conducting testing, counseling, and linking participants to treatment and PrEP.

You will build trust within LGBTQ+ youth communities, perform phlebotomy, and assist with data documentation while maintaining confidentiality and safety protocols.

Qualifications

  • Phlebotomy training or experience is required.
  • High school diploma or GED; willingness to complete if needed.
  • Vocational training or equivalent experience in related field.
  • Lived or professional experience supporting LGBTQ+ youth, especially within Black/Brown communities.
  • Familiarity with HIV and STI prevention, PrEP/PEP services, and social determinants of health.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, confidentiality, and cultural humility.

Responsibilities

  • Perform HIV and STI testing, counseling, and clinical support in onsite and offsite settings.
  • Conduct phlebotomy and assist with clinical procedures with accurate labeling.
  • Maintain a sterile workspace and follow safety protocols.
  • Provide affirming pre- and post-test counseling and protect patient privacy.
  • Notify participants of results and facilitate linkage to HIV treatment, PrEP, or other care.
