Job summary

GLIDE in San Francisco seeks a Lab Technician for the HEAT team to perform phlebotomy, HIV/HCV testing, and counseling for participants in low-barrier prevention programs. The role requires documenting results, maintaining QA, and supporting research activities with compliant specimen handling.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of HIV/HCV/STI prevention education, phlebotomy, or testing experience.
• CA CPT-1 certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• BLS certification within 3 months of hire.
• Harm Reduction understanding and sensitivity to SDOH in homeless populations.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-volume phlebotomy for STI testing and research specimens.
• Conduct CLIA-waived and moderate complexity HIV/HCV/Syphilis tests.
• Process specimens and prepare samples for transport to off-site labs.
• Provide risk reduction counseling and linkage to care for clients.
