Job summary

Kiewit is seeking an entry-level Civil/Construction Engineer for its Water Facilities South district. You will work across field and office teams, supporting engineering tasks, estimations, and project deliverables on infrastructure projects nationwide.

Expect hands-on training, exposure to safety protocols, and opportunities to participate in cost estimation, scheduling, and subcontract coordination as you grow within the Kiewit family.

Qualifications

• Willingness to travel and relocate to cities as business requires, national scope.
• Undergraduate or graduate degree in civil engineering, construction management or related degree.
• Infrastructure/Heavy Civil project experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings and specifications for field crews and supervision.
• Perform quantity calculations and takeoffs.
• Prepare work plans and packages.
• Support field surveying and layout including elevation and control points.
• Assist in labor-time tracking and JHA preparation.
• Provide solutions related to construction operations.
• Participate in jobsite safety reviews and toolbox talks.
• Coordinate material deliveries and schedule work groups on site.
• Supervise field operations.
• Perform material takeoffs and basic engineering calculations to support field ops.
• Prepare data for submittals and transmittals to customers, vendors, and agencies.
• Prepare purchase orders and subcontracts; assist in solicitations.
• Maintain project recordkeeping and cost reports; enter data into cost system.
• Assist in change orders and as-built data; provide field support.
