Job summary

Summit Broadband is seeking a Field Services Technician to join our Tech Ops team in Central Florida. This role focuses on customer installations, troubleshooting, and on-site service at residential, commercial, and hospitality sites.

You will spend most of your time on customer premises and engage with high-level clients and management. Strong communication, technical skills, and safety mindset are essential for success in this fast-growing fiber provider.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years telecommunications experience required.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• SCTE Certification or certification within a year (company paid).
• Minimum 3 years’ experience with service/install of networking & telephony lines.
• Must have ability to operate signal level meters and power meters.
• Candidates must possess mechanical ability and have a basic understanding of electricity.
• Consumer electronics experience required.
• Must have valid driver’s license with a clear MVR.
• Must be able to lift 75 lbs repeatedly and climb ladders.
• Summit Broadband is an essential service provider and may require after-hours work.

Responsibilities

• Respond to needs of a 24/7/365 operation.
• Work after hours and weekends; remain in service during outages until resolved.
• Meet up-selling and upgrading of Summit Broadband products and services.
• Fiber optic troubleshooting and splicing.
• Maintain vehicle in a clean and professional manner.
• Dress in Summit branded clothing and arrive on time.
• Use solid judgment to multi-task and solve problems.
