Job summary

Ulteig is seeking a Meter Inspector who can read design drawings, install, test and certify revenue meters, and verify field wiring and data collection. The role requires a solid background in metering design concepts, 4+ years of experience, and a relevant technical degree.

Candidates should be prepared to travel nationwide with emphasis on Texas and California. Expect to work independently in the field, collaborate with clients, and maintain safety and quality standards while supporting

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree with an engineering background or bachelor's degree in engineering.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in revenue metering.
• Metering Inspector certification/badge is preferred (e.g., ERCOT EPS Meter Inspector, CAISO Authorized Inspector).

Responsibilities

• Create/modify SLD & 3LD, schematics, and wiring diagrams for meters.
• Install, test, troubleshoot, and certify revenue and check meters and data recorders.
• Program meters to account for system losses and read real-time data.
• Verify meter panel wiring and accuracy for commercial/utility-scale installations.
• Investigate metering issues, perform repairs, and advise on solutions.
• Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing of meter communication and data output.
• Train/mentor engineers or technicians on installation/maintenance of meters.
• Assemble metering panels and use discipline-specific software.
• Inspect meter panels for compliance with client codes and AHJ.
• Maintain project schedules and provide progress reports.
• Travel nationwide (focus on TX/CA), up to 50% travel.
