Job summary

Ulteig is seeking a Meter Inspector to understand design drawings, implement meter programs, and certify 3-phase revenue meters. The role involves field work, installing and testing meters, and mentoring junior staff in installation and maintenance of meter applications.

The candidate will read engineering drawings (SLD/3LD), use standard software, and travel nationwide (50%+), with focus on Texas and California. A technical engineering background and metering experience are required.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree with an engineering background or bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in revenue metering.
• Metering Inspector certification/badge preferred (e.g., ERCOT EPS Meter Inspector, CAISO Authorized Inspector).
• Advanced understanding of metering design concepts.
• Ability to travel nationwide with focus on Texas and/or California (min. 50% travel).
• Must have permanent authorization to work in US.

Responsibilities

• Modify SLD & 3LD, schematics, and wiring diagrams for meters.
• Install, test, troubleshoot, certify revenue/check meters and data recorders.
• Program revenue and check meters and read real-time data with assistance.
• Verify wiring and meter accuracy for commercial and utility-scale installations.
• Investigate metering problems, perform repairs, and advise customers.
