Job summary

Pasco County, Inc is seeking a Meter Reader to perform field and office duties, reading water meters on an assigned route and recording readings. Training will be provided and opportunities exist for advancement to higher meter reader levels.

The role involves turning services on/off, reporting meter abnormalities, and using handheld devices and Toughbook computers for data capture, with emphasis on accuracy and safety in field work.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.
• Two (2) years' experience working in the field entering data in to handheld and laptop computers which may include public contact.

Responsibilities

• Read water meters on an assigned route and record readings.
• Conduct special readings as required and check meter functionality.
• Turn water services on and off as needed and file service orders.
• Report defects or signs of tampering to a supervisor.
• Retrieve usage data from meters for billing inquiries or questions.
