Job summary

84 Lumber Company is seeking a hands-on Merchandiser to operate in the greater Pittsburgh, PA area. You will travel to 310+ locations nationwide to create attractive displays and organize storage for thousands of products.

The role involves 5–10 day trips with all travel expenses and accommodations covered. Estimated total compensation is $55,000–$56,000, including base pay, incentive pay, and per diem.

The job requires 45 hours per week, outdoor work with variable weather, and forklift training.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience and/or training.
• Basic computer skills including Word, Excel or equivalent.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business documents.

Overview

What is merchandising at 84 Lumber? You will be creating attractive displays and functional storage for our thousands of products.

This is not a desk job. You’ll be active and hands-on, traveling to any of our 310+ locations nationwide. The position also includes forklift training, so you can safely and confidently handle equipment as needed.

We’re looking for candidates based in the greater Pittsburgh, PA area. The role involves traveling for 5 to 10 days at a time, with all travel expenses and accommodations fully covered.

Estimated total compensation: $55,000-$56,000, which includes base salary, incentive pay, and per diem.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

• Set and stock all gondolas in showroom according to each store’s layout
• Set racks in warehouse and stock per layout plan
• Price all products accurately
• Set all displays per layout guidelines
• Hang aisle markers, signage, and banners
• Send back extra gondola or racking parts to the main building

Supervisory Responsibility Store associates during merchandising efforts and temporary help.

Work Environment This position will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, such as, extreme cold/heat/humidity/wet conditions. This position works near moving mechanical parts. Rarely, this position is exposed to vibrations, risk of electrical shock, fumes, airborne particles and toxic chemicals.

Physical Demands This position frequently: stands, walk, uses hands and fingers, handles, feels, reaches with hands and arms, talk and listens. Periodically, this position climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches and crawls. Rarely, this position sits.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Hours of work depends on store hours of operations, 45 hours per week.

Travel Travel is expected for this position.
