Job summary

84 Lumber is seeking a hands-on Merchandiser to build attractive displays and organize product storage across our 310+ locations nationwide. This field role requires travel to stores, with travel expenses and accommodations fully covered, and forklift training provided.

The position is based in the greater Pittsburgh, PA area, with up to multi-day trips as needed. Estimated total compensation is $55,000–$56,000 annually, including base salary, incentive pay, and per diem.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience.
• Willingness to travel to multiple locations nationwide.
• Forklift training provided or available.

Responsibilities

• Set and stock gondolas in showroom according to store layout
• Set racks in warehouse and stock per layout plan
• Price all products accurately
• Set all displays per layout guidelines
• Hang aisle markers, signage, and banners
• Send back extra gondola or racking parts to the main building
• Supervise store associates during merchandising efforts

This is not a desk job. You’ll be active and hands-on, traveling to any of our 310+ locations nationwide. The position also includes forklift training, so you can safely and confidently handle equipment as needed.

We’re looking for candidates based in the greater Pittsburgh, PA area. The role involves traveling for 5 to 10 days at a time, with all travel expenses and accommodations fully covered.

Estimated total compensation: $55,000-$56,000, which includes base salary, incentive pay, and per diem.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

• Set and stock all gondolas in showroom according to each store’s layout
• Set racks in warehouse and stock per layout plan
• Price all products accurately
• Set all displays per layout guidelines
• Hang aisle markers, signage, and banners
• Send back extra gondola or racking parts to the main building

Supervisory Responsibility

Store associates during merchandising efforts and temporary help.

Work Environment

This position will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, such as, extreme cold/heat/humidity/wet conditions. This position works near moving mechanical parts. Rarely, this position is exposed to vibrations, risk of electrical shock, fumes, airborne particles and toxic chemicals.

Physical Demands

This position frequently: stands, walk, uses hands and fingers, handles, feels, reaches with hands and arms, talk and listens. Periodically, this position climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches and crawls. Rarely, this position sits.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Hours of work depends on store hours of operations, 45 hours per week.

Travel

Travel is expected for this position.

Required Education And Experience
