Job summary

MMR Consulting in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to provide field engineering, quality control and commissioning support for the mechanical and piping scope of an industrial capital project at a wastewater treatment facility.

You will work closely with the Construction Manager to oversee installation of pumps, blowers and process equipment, witness tests, and help mentor junior engineers on this challenging project.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of mechanical/piping experience on industrial or pharmaceutical projects.
• Experience with Wastewater Treatment Plants is required.
• University degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Hands-on installation of pumps, blowers, piping systems and equipment.
• Strong knowledge of drawings, specs, RFIs and submittal processes.

Responsibilities

• Review mechanical and piping design documents and participate in design reviews.
• Verify materials and equipment against project specifications.
• Coordinate day-to-day work with the Construction Manager and site contractors.
• Perform daily field inspections of mechanical and piping installations.
• Witness testing and support commissioning activities.
• Prepare progress reports and provide project status updates in meetings.
