Job summary

MMR Consulting is seeking a Civil Engineer to provide field engineering, quality control and technical support for the CSA scope on an industrial capital project at a wastewater treatment facility in Raleigh, NC. The role requires coordinating with the Construction Manager and ensuring work is built to design and specifications.

The ideal candidate will lead/mentor intermediate to junior engineers, possess strong communication skills, and have 8+ years of civil/structural/architectural

Qualifications

• 8+ years of civil/structural/architectural experience on industrial capital projects.
• Experience with Wastewater Treatment Plants including soil, excavation, foundations, structures and tankage.
• Solid understanding of construction drawings, specifications, RFIs and submittal processes.
• Field inspection and quality control experience on active construction sites.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with CM, contractors and client stakeholders.
• PE license is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Review civil, structural and architectural design documents and participate in design reviews.
• Provide technical advisory support including solution design and implementation support.
• Verify materials against project specifications prior to and during installation.
• Coordinate day-to-day work with the Construction Manager and provide site coordination with contractors and other disciplines.
• Perform daily field inspections of soil, excavation, foundation, structural and tankage work.
• Track CSA schedule activities, RFIs and submittals.
• Carry out quality control activities to confirm work aligns with drawings, specifications and codes.
• Identify and manage technical risks and follow up on mitigation plans.
• Monitor project metrics and prepare progress reports.
• Provide project status updates during project meetings.
• Engage with stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
