Job summary

The Boring Company is seeking a Field Mechanical Engineer focused on machine integration to design practical mechanical upgrades that improve field operation. You will work directly on the machine, measuring and validating fit, and implementing quick, safe, reliable solutions for demanding environments.

Responsibilities include designing brackets, guards, mounts, and interfaces; collaborating with project teams; and using hand calculations, CAD, and FEA to document changes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 1+ years of design, build and testing experience.
• Experience with SolidWorks.
• Experience creating manufacturing drawings.
• Strong teamwork with cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design, modify, and implement practical mechanical solutions for machine operations.
• Take measurements, validate fit and function, test components, and iterate in the field.
• Collaborate with project, operations, and engineering teams to support operational needs.
• Use hand calculations, CAD, and FEA to document designs and changes; support commissioning and maintenance.
