Job summary

Regal Rexnord is seeking a Mechanical Application Engineer to provide frontline technical support for engineered gear products in Arizona, with field visits to mine sites and distributors. You will translate customer needs into designs, perform gear drive assessments, and collaborate with sales for quotes and orders.

The role requires a mechanical engineering degree and 2–3 years of relevant experience, with remote work capability and travel 10–20%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology (accredited university).
• 2–3 years of relevant experience in industrial products, preference for application support.
• Knowledge of industrial gearboxes, manufacturing processes, castings, fabrications, forgings, sheet metal parts, fittings, fasteners.
• Understanding of Engineering BOMs and drawings.
• Proficient in MS Office tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working in a collaborative environment.
• Ability to be productive in a remote work environment.
• Strong problem solving, prioritization and urgency.
• Unquestionable business and personal integrity.
• Enthusiastic and positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Travel to mine sites to survey gear drives four days per week.
• Coordinate with reliability personnel on observations and concerns.
• Assist with product selection for site improvements and expansions.
• Review failures with distributors and repair shops and advise on repairs.
• Advise when Field Service needs to be engaged.
• Interact with sales team and customers to translate requirements to designs for quotes and orders.
• Design products to meet customer requirements with solid design tools knowledge.
• Redesign products to support change requests and cost reductions.
• Take responsibility for and complete key tasks on project basis, review drawings, meet deadlines.
• Create test plans to validate design concepts and document conclusions.
• Resolve drawing, tolerance, quality, and material interpretation challenges.
• Execute gear calculation, bearing selection, shaft/housing design, lubrication design.
