Job summary

MYR Group Inc. is seeking a Field Mechanic to travel to project sites across Iowa, performing maintenance, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs on fleet equipment. You will support field teams and can pursue higher-level roles within the Fleet Department.

The role requires travel within Iowa (occasional overnight) and may involve after-hours emergencies, with a company vehicle, fuel card, and lodging provided. Main office is in Marshalltown, IA.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years in general mobile heavy truck repair, automotive repair, or equipment repair.
• Vocational/technical training or apprenticeship in vehicle and equipment repair is acceptable with related experience.
• Must be capable of operating company vehicles and have proper licensing.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on fleet equipment across project sites.
• Travel frequently within Iowa, including potential overnight stays, and respond to emergencies.
• Maintain and organize service vehicle, logs, and records; complete repair orders and timesheets.
• Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with DOT, EPA, OSHA, and other regulations.
