Job summary

MYR Group Inc. is seeking a Field Mechanic to travel to project sites across Iowa, performing maintenance, preventive maintenance, and minor equipment repairs. The role involves local travel, potential overtime, and lodging/fuel card provisions.

The position supports fleet operations and may lead less experienced mechanics. You will service and repair diverse fleet equipment, document repairs, and adhere to safety and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of experience in general mobile heavy truck repair, automotive repair, or equipment repair.
• Vocational/technical school or apprenticeship in vehicle and equipment repair acceptable.
• Must be capable of operating company vehicles and equipment daily; valid licensing.
• Must be at least 18 years of age; HS diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on fleet equipment; follow manufacturer guidelines and schedules.
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance; keep service vehicle clean and professional.
• May oversee less experienced mechanics.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
• Maintain records of time, materials, and repairs; track in computer systems.
