Job summary

Haugland Group, a privately owned Long Island–based civil infrastructure and energy construction company, seeks an experienced Road Mechanic to support fleet maintenance in the field across the region. The ideal candidate will travel to job sites, diagnose and repair a wide range of construction equipment and vehicles, perform preventive maintenance, and respond to field service calls.

A high school diploma is required, 5+ years with tractors/engines, CDL preferred, and a personal toolset is

• 5+ years of experience with tractor trailers, automotive systems, and small engines.
• CDL preferred; valid driver's license required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Perform all aspects of routine maintenance and corrective troubleshooting on a varied fleet of vehicles and construction equipment.
• Respond to field service calls and perform on-site diagnostics and repairs.
• Document work performed and communicate equipment status to supervisors and operators.

KeyFunctions:

• Performallaspectsofroutinemaintenanceandcorrectivetroubleshootingonavariedfleetofvehiclesandindustrialconstructionequipment.
• Respondtofieldservicecallsandperformon‑sitediagnosticsandrepairs.
• Maintainandrepairtractortrailers,heavy‑dutyconstructionequipment,light‑dutytrucks,automobiles,andsmallmachinery.
• Documentworkperformedandcommunicateequipmentstatustosupervisorsandoperators.

DesiredQualifications:

• 5+yearsofexperienceworkingwithtractortrailers,automotivesystems,andsmallengines.
• Weldingandheavyequipmentexperiencepreferred.
• Highschooldiplomaorequivalent.
• Validdriver’slicenserequired;CDLpreferred.
• Personaltoolsetrequired.
