Job summary

MYR Group is seeking a Field Mechanic who will travel to project sites across the designated service area, performing maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repairs on fleet equipment. You will support field teams and provide exceptional service to internal customers.

You will work from our Glen Allen, VA area with a company vehicle and fuel card; travel includes meals and lodging as needed. Opportunities exist to grow toward higher-level roles within the Fleet Department.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in heavy truck repair, automotive repair, or equipment repair; or four years with vocational/technical training.
• Valid Class B CDL required (or ability to obtain).
• Must be at least 18; High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform full range of servicing and repairs on fleet equipment per manufacturer guidelines.
• Travel to customer sites for repair and maintenance; keep service vehicle clean and professional.
• Oversee less experienced mechanics when needed.
• Maintain records of time, materials, and repairs; track with computer systems.
• Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with DOT, EPA, OSHA rules.
