Job summary

MYR Group Inc. is seeking a Field Mechanic to travel to project sites across the service area, performing maintenance, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs on fleet equipment.

The role offers growth toward higher-level Fleet Department positions and emphasizes exceptional service to internal customers. The main shop is in Glen Allen, VA; a company vehicle and fuel card are provided, with meals and lodging when travel is required.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in general heavy truck, automotive, or equipment repair; or completed vocational/technical program with four years of experience.
• Valid Class B CDL (or ability to obtain)
• Clean MVR and ability to operate company vehicles
• High school diploma preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Perform servicing and repairs on fleet equipment per manufacturer guidelines and schedules
• Travel to customer sites for repair/maintenance; maintain clean, professional service vehicle
• Provide oversight for less-experienced mechanics when needed
• Conduct preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs
• Maintain records of time, materials, and repairs; track information in computer systems
