Job summary

Valley Corporation is hiring a Heavy Equipment Mechanic for a hybrid role that combines field and shop work. You will diagnose, service, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on heavy equipment to ensure safe, reliable operation.

Responsibilities include inspecting equipment, testing repairs, and assisting other mechanics. Qualified candidates have at least 3 years of heavy equipment/truck experience and a Nebraska driver’s license (CDL preferred).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3 years of experience with heavy equipment and trucks.
• Physically able to perform demanding tasks as described.
• Valid Nebraska driver's license; CDL preferred.

JOB SUMMARY

This is a hybrid position requiring work both in the field and in the shop. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic is responsible for performing diagnostics, service, repairs, and preventive maintenance on heavy equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities

• Inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions and diagnose to determine the extent of repair required.
• Check equipment for proper performance.
• Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, using appropriate tools for the job.
• Test repaired equipment to ensure that works meets manufacturer specifications.
• Assists other mechanics with the more challenging assignments
• Performs other related work as required

Qualifications

• Work well with others
• Must have own tools
• Experience with Heavy Equipment, Heavy truck, and Light truck
• Educational requirements: High school/ GED and 3 years previous experience required
• Job is physically intense and requires, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bending, stooping, and carrying over 50lbs
• Ability to effectively work with all levels of personnel and management.
• Self-motivated and able to work productively with minimal supervision.
• Must have a valid Nebraska driver’s license. CDL preferred.
