Job summary

Lane Forest Products is seeking a Field Mechanic for the Prairie West Shop in Eugene, OR to maintain and repair heavy equipment and machinery, with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems and work independently.

The role involves servicing in remote locations, welding repairs, and using CAT ET, CAT SIS and Cummins Insite, while operating CAT 950G/950H and John Deere Excavator. A valid license and toolset are required.

Qualifications

• 3 years experience in the maintenance of heavy equipment
• 2 years related trade school training may be substituted for 2 years' experience
• Experience repairing suspensions, brakes, clutches, hydraulics and electrical systems
• Must possess Windows based software skills to accomplish job data entry and use laptop computers for diagnostic operations
• Valid Driver License
• Travel in company supplied vehicles to remote locations, typically returning daily
• Required to supply own tools adequate to skill level

Job Details: Job Location: Prairie West Shop - Eugene, OR 97402, Salary Range: $35.00 - $38.00 Hourly, Lane Forest Products is currently seeking an experienced Field Mechanic, who will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of various heavy equipment, and machinery. The right candidate will have the ability to trouble shoot and repair basic and complex systems and must have the ability to work independently.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Completing all general maintenance and repair work as directed by the Shop Manager.
• Independently making repair decisions based on safety, business needs and resources available.
• Operating the field service truck in remote and rugged locations safely and effectively.

• Also, operates diagnostic software: CAT ET, CAT SIS, and Cummins Insite diagnostic programs. Operates CAT loader 950G & 950H & John Deere Excavator.
