Job summary

Century Companies, Inc. is seeking a Field Mechanic to maintain, diagnose, and repair mobile heavy equipment across Montana, North Dakota, and Wyoming.

This seasonal role emphasizes preventive and corrective maintenance, with opportunities to advise operators and collaborate with the maintenance team. The position requires performing inspections, tuning equipment for efficiency, and contributing to daily reporting.

Qualifications

• CDL with Tanker and HazMat endorsement preferred.
• Must meet minimum age requirements.

Responsibilities

• Identify and perform preventative and break/fix maintenance on mobile heavy equipment.
• Provide technical advice to operators and Maintenance Manager on equipment issues and improvements.
• Respond to nonfunctional equipment after hours when needed.
• Complete regular inspections and tune configurations for optimal utilization.
• Submit daily reports and monitor messages to coordinate repairs.
• Pursue applicable training and conferences to stay current.

FIELD MECHANIC

Classification: Seasonal

Compensation: Prevailing Wage or comparable

Job Location: Montana/North Dakota/Wyoming

Position Objective

Position involves the maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of various types of mobile heavy equipment in locations throughout Montana, North Dakota and Wyoming.

Essential Functions

• Identify and complete preventative and break/fix maintenance
• Provide professional/technical advice to operators concerning issues with equipment operations
• Provide professional/technical advice to the Maintenance Manager on new and innovative ideas concerning equipment technology
• Respond to and address nonfunctional equipment working after hours as necessary.
• Complete regular inspections
• Tune and configure equipment for optimal utilization and efficiency
• Provide daily report
• Check messages on a regular basis and respond accordingly
• Seek out and participate in appropriate training and conferences
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Competencies

• Class A Commercial driver's license with Tanker and Hazardous Material endorsement preferred. CDL Training provided by employer for non-CDL holders.
• Must meet minimum age requirements.
