Job summary

Century Companies, Inc., a heavy civil, concrete and asphalt paving contractor based in Lewistown, MT, is accepting applications for a seasonal Truck Driver.

Drivers will operate end dumps, side dumps and belly dumps, delivering soils, aggregates and asphalt to residential and commercial sites across MT, ND and WY, while complying with FMCSA regulations and DOT logging requirements.

Qualifications

• Class A CDL with tanker endorsement required.
• Clean driving record and trucking experience.
• Knowledge of FMCSA regulations.
• Must meet minimum age requirements.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate end dumps, side dumps and belly dumps with/without trailers and tarping systems.
• Deliver soils, aggregates, asphalt and other materials to residential and commercial sites.
• Inspect vehicle before and after trips for safe operation and maintenance.
• Perform minor servicing and maintenance; report major problems to supervisor.
• Maintain DOT driver’s logs and comply with FMCSA regulations.
• Communicate via 2-way radio with supervisor and team.
• Complete and submit paperwork in a timely manner.
• Travel to outlying areas may be required; overnight stays possible.

TRUCK DRIVER

Classification: Seasonal

Compensation: Prevailing Wage or comparable

Work Location: Montana/North Dakota/Wyoming

Position Objective

Drivers will safely and efficiently operate end dumps, side dumps, and belly dumps with and without trailers and tarping systems. Drivers will deliver all types of soils, aggregates, asphalt and other materials to locations both residential and commercial.

Essential Functions

• Responsible for the safe and responsible operation of end dump, side dump, and belly dump trucks, including pup trailers.
• Responsible for inspecting vehicle for proper and safe operating condition before and after each trip.
• Perform minor servicing and maintenance of equipment; refer major problems to the supervisor. Clean equipment on a regular basis.
• Must maintain a DOT driver's log and other required transport documentation, adhere to all local, state, and federal (FMCSA) regulations and ensure DOT compliance at all times.
• Must keep time and material records.
• Effectively communicate via 2-way radio with supervisor and other team members.
• Position requires working with truck components, including brake adjustments, tie-down of equipment, as well as climbing in/out of cabs, on/off and over/under equipment, and sitting for extended periods of time.
• Travel to outlying areas may be required and position may occasionally be required to stay overnight.
• Be observant of changing road/traffic conditions and adjust driving accordingly.
• Complete and submit all paperwork in a timely manner.

Competencies
