Job summary

Border States Paving, Inc. is seeking a Field Mechanic (Heavy Equipment) to service and repair heavy machinery and trucks, and to assist with asphalt-plant maintenance in ND/SD. The role requires welding, hydraulics, and electrical experience, with a strong emphasis on safety and the ability to travel during the summer.

The position offers excellent wages and a full benefits package, with seasonal work from April to November and opportunities for overtime across weekends.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL A preferred.
• Welding, hydraulic and electrical experience preferred.
• Flexibility to work overtime, weekends and extensive summer travel.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repair of heavy equipment and trucks.
• Assist with maintenance of asphalt plant in ND/SD.
• Operate and diagnose equipment to identify defects; weld as needed.
• Travel extensively during the summer and adhere to safety requirements.

Border States Paving, Inc. is a regional paving company located in Fargo, ND and has a need for a Field Mechanic (Heavy Equipment) to perform routine maintenance and repair of various types of heavy equipment and trucks and to assist with maintenance of asphalt plant in ND/SD. May operate equipment to diagnose problems and inspect for defects. Welding, hydraulic, and electrical experience preferred. Moderate to heavy lifting, bending, reaching and stooping are required. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Must have a valid driver’s license; CDL A preferred. Must pass required Pre-employment urine drug screen. Must demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and be flexible to work overtime and weekends and extensive summer travel. Excellent wages and benefits are offered. Extensive summer travel. Most employees own campers and travel from job to job

Wages- $33.40+/hr plus $21.90/hr fringe(towards health insurance premiums & pension).

$350 weekly per diem and full benefit package
