Job summary

EMERY SAPP & SONS is seeking an experienced Traveling Field Mechanic to diagnose and repair asphalt equipment, and perform preventive maintenance. The role requires traveling within Missouri and being within 1 hour of Hannibal, MO.

You will work with the Equipment division and coordinate with other departments to keep equipment performing at peak levels. Responsibilities include diagnosing complex issues, performing preventative maintenance, and maintaining reports and metrics.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in equipment maintenance and repair, preferably in a construction setting.
• Strong technical skills, with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex equipment issues.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Experience using equipment maintenance or repair software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair work on company equipment, including heavy equipment, trucks, and trailers.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues, and develop solutions to resolve them.
• Perform preventative maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize downtime.
• Ensure that all equipment-related activities are carried out in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Manage relationships with vendors and equipment manufacturers, negotiating contracts and resolving any issues in a timely manner.
• Develop and maintain equipment-related reports and metrics, and communicate equipment-related information to stakeholders.
• Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements in equipment maintenance and repair.
