Job summary

Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc in Missouri seeks an experienced Traveling Field Mechanic to diagnose and repair equipment and perform preventive maintenance across our asphalt equipment fleet. The role will support our Equipment division and coordinate with other departments to keep projects running smoothly.

You will travel throughout Missouri, live within one hour of Hannibal, MO, and be comfortable working off-site at job sites and yards.

Qualifications

• Must have 3+ years’ experience in equipment maintenance and repair.
• Experience in construction equipment maintenance is preferred.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair on heavy equipment, trucks, and trailers.
• Diagnose issues and develop solutions to resolve equipment problems.
• Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and extend lifespan.
• Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts as needed.
• Develop reports and metrics on equipment performance for stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Traveling Field Mechanic to join our Asphalt Equipment team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing equipment issues, as well as performing preventative maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance. As a key member of our Equipment division, the Mechanic will work closely with other departments and stakeholders to ensure the efficient and effective use of company resources. ** Must be within 1 hour of Hannibal MO and must be willing to travel throughout Missouri **

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair work on company equipment, including heavy equipment, trucks, and trailers
• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues, and develop solutions to resolve them
• Perform preventative maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize downtime
• Ensure that all equipment-related activities are carried out in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
• Manage relationships with vendors and equipment manufacturers, negotiating contracts and resolving any issues in a timely manner
• Develop and maintain equipment-related reports and metrics, and communicate equipment-related information to stakeholders
• Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements in equipment maintenance and repair
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3+ years of experience in equipment maintenance and repair, preferably in a construction setting
• Strong technical skills, with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex equipment issues
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Experience using equipment maintenance or repair software preferred
