The State of Wisconsin is recruiting three Meat Safety Inspectors (Entry or Objective) for the Division of Food and Recreation Safety, BMPB. Positions are field-based with headquarters chosen from Jackson/Trempealeau, Sheboygan, or Milwaukee Counties.

Responsibilities include inspecting meat establishments, verifying safety and labeling requirements, and educating licensees. Travel is extensive (about 90%), with a 12-month probationary period and a strong benefits package.

Formación

• Experience using computer software, programs, and databases in an educational or professional setting, including Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, Word, etc.

Responsabilidades

• Field inspection duties including ante- and post-mortem inspection of food animals and poultry in official meat establishments.
• Verify humane handling, sanitary dressing, zero tolerance and SRM requirements.
• Verify SSOPs, HACCP plans, and pathogen reduction programs meet regulatory standards.
