MDARD seeks a Food Safety Inspector (Food Industry Field Scientist) to inspect food processing plants, bakeries, retail stores and warehouses for sanitation, labeling and adulteration compliance. The role is field-based, uses a home workstation, and requires relocation to specified Michigan counties within 10 months.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in a related field with 10 semester (15 term) credits in biology and/or chemistry.

Responsabilidades

• Inspect food processing plants, bakeries, retail stores and warehouses for sanitation, labeling, and adulteration compliance.
• Investigate foodborne illnesses and consumer complaints as part of regulatory oversight.
• Follow standard operating procedures and meet quality and timeliness standards from a home workstation.
• Coordinate with the Food Safety Division to ensure adherence to state laws and regulations related to food safety.

Educación

Bachelor's degree in animal science, biochemistry, biology, chemistry, environmental health, food science/technology, microbiology, toxicology, veterinary science, or a related field including 10 semester (15 term) credits in biology and/or chemistry
