Job summary

Cutting Edge Countertops is seeking a Measure Technician to translate customer ideas into precise, production-ready plans. You’ll measure on-site with laser tools, verify conditions, and relay details to our CAD team to ensure accurate fabrication.

This field-based role requires independent work, strong organization, and excellent communication with customers and internal teams. Travel is localized to job sites with a company vehicle provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1–3 years in cabinetry, countertops, construction, or related trade preferred.
• Ability to read plans and interpret project specs.
• Comfort with laser measuring equipment, tablets, digital forms, and MS Office.
• Customer service or consultative sales experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and driving record that meets requirements.

Responsibilities

• Meet with customers, contractors, and on-site contacts to confirm scope, design intent, and specs.
• Use laser measuring equipment and a tablet to capture precise dimensions for cabinets, walls, openings, overhangs, and other conditions.
• Review project details, identify discrepancies or installation risks, and resolve questions before production.
• Document measurements, site conditions, photos, notes, and decisions clearly.
• Communicate confirmed dimensions to the CAD team for accurate drawings and schedules.
• Explain site-readiness requirements and customer responsibilities before installation.
• Manage a daily route and appointment schedule with high standards for quality and service.
• Safely operate a company vehicle and maintain tools and equipment.
• Contribute ideas to improve safety, quality, workflow, and customer experience.
