Job summary

NOVA Engineering's Tallahassee, FL team is seeking a CMT Engineering Technician to perform field materials testing on soil, concrete, masonry, rebar, and asphalt. You will prepare detailed field reports, conduct basic lab tests, and evaluate site conditions to provide actionable recommendations.

The role requires lifting up to 70 pounds, willingness to travel to work sites with a company vehicle, and strong communication with clients and staff.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in field testing and construction materials
• ICC certifications in soils, reinforced concrete, and masonry a plus
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specs, safety rules, and manuals
• Ability to apply basic math to calculate quantities and inspect works in the field

Responsibilities

• Perform field materials testing of soil, concrete, masonry, rebar, and asphalt
• Prepare detailed field reports with test results and inspections
• Perform basic laboratory tests on soil and concrete and report results
• Evaluate site and subgrade conditions and provide recommendations
