Job summary

Hillis-Carnes Engineering Associates, Inc. seeks a Construction Materials Testing Technician in the Pittsburgh, PA area to support field work on land development and construction projects. You will conduct field observations, sample and test soil, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and steel, and maintain daily inspection logs.

The role requires lifting 60–80 lbs, outdoor work, and strong communication. Training is provided; a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle are needed.

Reliable vehicle for field work

Ability to lift/move up to 60-80 pounds
Work in outdoor climates and varied terrain
Attention to safety and quality
Effective verbal and written communication
MS Office familiarity and tablet use
Basic math and measurement tools
Read/interpret plans with training

Responsibilities
