Job summary

Hillis-Carnes Engineering Associates, Inc. is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Technician in the Hagerstown, MD office to support land development and construction projects. You will perform field observations and material testing while working with a knowledgeable team.

Responsibilities include sampling, testing soils and aggregates, and documenting results in daily logs. A reliable vehicle, ability to lift heavy items, and strong communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• Must have reliable vehicle and valid driver's license.
• Ability to lift and move up to 60-80 pounds.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying climates.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with field sampling and testing preferred.
• Pre-employment criteria must be met.
• Preference for certifications such as ACI, NICET, WACEL.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field observations at regional jobsites.
• Sample and test construction materials.
• Prepare accurate daily logs with inspection results.
• Communicate project progress with PM or Operations Manager.
