Job summary

Hillis-Carnes Engineering Associates, Inc. in Aberdeen, MD is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Technician.

You will perform field observations at regional jobsites and sample and test soils, aggregates, concrete, and other materials, compiling accurate daily logs. You will communicate with project management, work independently and with experienced staff, and contribute to quality control on land development and construction projects.

Qualifications

• Reliable vehicle for field work and valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift up to 60-80 pounds and work outdoors in varying terrains.
• Attention to detail and safety compliance.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform field observations at jobsites in the Aberdeen region.
• Sample and test construction materials: soil, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, steel.
• Prepare accurate daily logs with inspection results.
• Communicate progress with PM or Operations Manager.
