Job summary

Actalent is seeking an entry-level Engineering Technician focused on construction materials testing (CMT). The role offers comprehensive training and hands-on field experience on active construction sites, with a clear path toward industry certifications in a fast-paced environment.

The position is full-time, onsite in Exton, PA, with pay between $18.00 and $22.00 per hour and a contract-to-hire arrangement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to lift, carry, and handle testing equipment and materials.
• Strong communication with field and office personnel.
• High attention to detail when recording test results.
• Dependable, professional demeanor with a strong work ethic.
• Willingness to learn and grow in testing, engineering and inspections.
• Interest in construction materials testing (CMT).

Responsibilities

• Perform field testing and inspections on active construction sites under supervision.
• Test soils, concrete, and asphalt using standardized procedures and equipment.
• Conduct soil density and concrete testing to verify specifications.
• Observe construction activities to confirm adherence to plans and standards.
• Document field observations, procedures and results in logs and reports.
• Communicate professionally with contractors, engineers, project managers, inspectors, and team members.
• Follow safety procedures on job sites and around heavy equipment.
• Handle and transport testing equipment and materials safely.
• Aim to obtain CMT and ACI certifications as experience grows.
• Demonstrate reliability and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
