Field Marketing Manager, B2B SaaS (AI Scale-up)
Chicago, IL | Hybrid (2 to 3 days in office) | $[120,000] to $130,000 base + equity
Our client is a well-funded, high-growth AI scale-up whose platform is trusted by some of the largest enterprises in a major global industry. Their technology turns complex, real-world data into insight that senior leaders use to run multi-billion-dollar operations.
They’re hiring a Field Marketing Manager to own field marketing for a key customer segment across North America. Leadership sees events as one of their most impactful growth channels, so this is a high-visibility role with real ownership.
What you’ll do
- Own the North American event calendar for your segment, prioritising and planning activity across every track
- Run sponsorships at major industry trade shows, from large booth presences with dinners and happy hours to lighter-touch activations
- Own the company’s flagship hosted executive event end to end, including the agenda
- Build a VIP hospitality programme of curated experiences for C-suite audiences
- Partner closely with sales on an ABM-led strategy, bringing the right named decision-makers from target accounts into the room
- Manage vendors, production and on-site delivery
- Track impact from target-account engagement through to pipeline and closed revenue
What you’ll bring
- 3+ years of dedicated field marketing and event experience in B2B SaaS or B2B tech
- Experience owning a hosted event end to end, ideally for senior or executive audiences
- Outstanding production and project management skills, with the ability to run multiple programmes in parallel without dropping detail
- A commercial, analytical mindset and confidence working closely with sales
- A self-starter who thrives working autonomously while staying closely connected to a global team
- A hands‑on attitude: as happy on site making things happen as you are planning strategy
- Startup or scale‑up experience is a plus
- Experience with, or a personal connection to, industrial or traditional sectors is a real bonus
This probably isn’t for you if...
- Your experience is mostly digital, brand or generalist marketing, with events as a side responsibility
- You’ve supported events but never owned one end to end
- You’d rather manage agencies than be on site making it happen yourself
- You’re looking to step back from hands‑on delivery into a purely strategic or people management role
- Travel during conference season (spring and autumn) doesn’t appeal
- You need a lot of day‑to‑day direction, or prefer working entirely on your own without collaborating with a wider team
- You measure event success by footfall rather than the right people in the room and the revenue it drives
- You don’t enjoy working closely with sales
- Genuine ownership of one of the company’s most impactful channels
- Work at the forefront of real-world AI in a business in serious growth mode
- Equity for all employees
- Hybrid working from a great Chicago office alongside sales, customer success and marketing colleagues
- Parent-friendly and dog-friendly culture, with regular socials and volunteering opportunities
- Travel mainly during spring and autumn conference seasons, with occasional international trips
