Job summary

iBT is seeking a Field Maintenance Technician in the Kansas City area (Merriam, KS) for full-time service, installation, diagnostics, and reporting on rotating equipment. You will install bearings, belts, sheaves, alignments, and lubrications, with vibration data collection as needed.

The role requires travel within 4 hours of Kansas City, on-call rotations, possible weekends and holidays, and reporting to customers after each project.

Qualifications

• Customer-focused with ability to work with individuals at all levels
• Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic skills
• Possess a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
• Willingness to travel up to 4 hours and be on-call/overtime when required

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faulty bearings, worn belts, sheaves, couplings, and other components on rotating equipment
• Safely replace components using proper tools and methods
• Repair highly critical plant equipment to reduce downtime
• Convey findings with confidence and practical solutions
• Develop and maintain strong customer relationships based on trust and reliability
• Assist Field Vibration Analysts with collecting route data at multiple plants
• Work overtime per customer requirements and be available for calls at any time
