Job summary

Walmart in Grenada, MS is seeking a skilled technician to install and support low voltage systems including security, CCTV, fire alarms, and network cabling.

You will run, test, and repair cabling; perform preventive maintenance; document activity; and train end users on proper operation of systems.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork with engineers and managers, and adherence to standards while ensuring on-time project delivery.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Commercial driving record with no DUI, DWI, or OUI convictions within the last five years.
• Commercial driving record with no more than two moving violations within the last three years.
• Commercial driving record with no preventable accidents within the last three years.
• Commercial driving record with no serious traffic violations within the last three years.
• Ability to successfully complete a DOT physical and obtain medical certification valid for at least one year.
• Ability to read and speak in English.
• Option 1: 1 year’s experience in electrical, material handling equipment, or related technical trade. Option 2: 2 years’ Walmart store experience.
• Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
• Experience in local electrical codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Sets up, installs, configures, and supports low voltage systems including security systems, fire alarms, CCTV, audio/visual systems, and network cabling.
• Performs routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and functional testing to ensure system reliability and performance.
• Diagnoses, troubleshoots, and resolves system faults and outages to minimize downtime.
• Maintains accurate records of installations, inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
• Provides technical support and training to end users on the proper operation and basic maintenance of low voltage systems.
