Job summary

Goodwill of Silicon Valley is hiring a Full-Time Loss Prevention Field Officer for the San Jose area. You will conduct loss prevention audits, patrol stores and headquarters, observe personnel, and prepare written reports to management.

This role requires high school diploma, prior loss prevention or safety experience, valid CA driver's license, clean driving record, and a BSIS Guard Card. You will work swing shifts, with occasional night shifts for events or emergencies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Previous Loss Prevention/Security and/or Safety experience.
• Ability to write clear, detailed reports.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Calm under pressure and able to handle crises.
• Prioritization and multitasking across duties.
• Knowledge of basic IT for communications and documentation.
• Valid California driver’s license and clean driving record.
• BSIS Guard Card is required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Loss Prevention and Safety audits and surveil donation stations, stores, and HQ.
• Open and secure buildings by activating/deactivating alarms.
• Observe personnel to prevent unauthorized items leaving or entering.
• Perform random inspections of lunch boxes, purses, vehicles, etc., when requested.
• Patrol Retail Stores as assigned and monitor parking areas around HQ.
• Maintain logs/audits and submit reports to management.
• Notify local law enforcement when apprehensions are made.
• Assist with safety hazards and take corrective action during patrols.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate with police or fire departments.
• Investigate property damage, theft, or vandalism and report findings.
• Follow all company policies; shift may include swing and occasional night hours.
