Job summary

ExxonMobil in Midland, TX invites applications for an entry-level Lease Operator/Field Technician position. You will participate in a 12-week classroom and field training program before field assignments in pumping and wellhead operations.

You will learn to operate and inspect equipment, perform basic maintenance, and read production data. The role includes safety procedures, lockout/tagout, and data entry, with opportunities to grow within the Permian Basin.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Entry level position with no experience necessary.
• Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record is required.
• Able to read and write to read pressure gauges and complete paperwork.
• Basic computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office.
• Strong adaptability skills and eagerness to learn.
• Ability to operate hand tools such as grease guns and wrenches to lubricate or tighten equipment.

Responsibilities

• You will be enrolled in a 12 week classroom and field training program before a field assignment.
• Learn to operate and inspect pumping and wellhead equipment.
• Learn maintenance of gas engines, testers, phase separators, water knockouts, heaters and stock tanks, and other on-site equipment.
• Assist with routine maintenance of production equipment and check compressors.
• Learn to detect oil, water or gas leaks and proper lockout/tagout procedures.
• Utilize SCADA equipment for well surveillance to optimize production and prevent spills.
• Assist in minor repairs of production equipment.
• Learn to read and record daily numbers from lease oil and gas measurement equipment.
• Enter daily production readings and run tickets into electronic systems.
• Advise water haulers when water is ready for pickup and disposal.
• Complete all required paperwork and reports; perform other duties as assigned.
