Job summary

McGough Construction is seeking a Construction Field Layout Technician in Dallas, TX to supervise survey layout and field operations. The role requires thorough knowledge of staking, elevation control, total stations, and a variety of survey equipment/controls, with the ability to train others and create field notes.

Responsibilities include supervising the Rodman, performing survey computations, managing field notes, and coordinating with stakeholders to ensure accuracy and safety on site.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• 5 years of construction field engineering with staking, elevation control, total stations, and survey equipment.
• Experience creating and updating JHAs for survey tasks.
• Preferred bilingual Spanish/English communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform survey computations and verify layout matches plans using data collectors.
• Supervise the Rodman and field operations; support field layout and safety.
• Create, reduce, and check field notes for standard surveying operations.
• Coordinate with internal teams and contractors to align survey efforts.
• Maintain project site security and comply with safety policies.
