Job summary
Aro Homes is seeking an experienced field engineer to own the engineering presence in the field for precision-engineered homes. This role will split time between active job sites in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties, the Mountain View office, and the Sacramento plant, ensuring drawings translate into reality with timely field fixes.
You will bring 5+ years in construction or field engineering, fluency with architectural, structural, and MEPF documents, and strong Bluebeam skills.
Qualifications
- 5+ years in construction, field engineering, or closely related role.
- Fluency reading architectural, structural, and MEP construction documents.
- Track record of closing things out and driving to resolution.
- Strong Bluebeam skills and comfort with BIM viewers, BOMs, and docs.
Responsibilities
- Own the field's questions: serve as first-line engineering response for superintendents and crews with a days-to-answer target.
- Diagnose issues across architectural, structural, and MEPF scopes and determine fixes.
- Execute redlines in Bluebeam, correct BOMs and work orders, update FIDs and Field Kits, propagate changes to all homes.
- Triage issues that need a discipline owner or engineering judgment and ensure closure.
- Convert recurring field issues into change requests with photos and context to guide engineering decisions.
- Verify changes actually resolved issues on subsequent homes during assembly and finish.
- Support assembly weeks by being present for module sets and critical stages.
