Job summary

RICK is seeking an entry-level Land Survey Assistant in Tucson, AZ to support a modern surveying crew on boundary, topographic, and construction-staking projects. You will assist with field measurements, operate robotic total stations and GNSS equipment, and help document field data while following safety procedures.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys outdoor work, practical problem solving, and learning from industry experts.

Qualifications

Preferred candidate will have one (1) year of technical survey training, plus one (1) year of experience or two years of related work.
High school diploma or equivalent required for entry-level.
No prior surveying experience required for reliable candidates willing to learn.

Responsibilities

Assist Crew Chief with boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, utility, and construction-staking surveys.
Set up and operate survey equipment including total stations and GNSS receivers.
Mark stakes and control points with accurate offsets and elevations.
Read plans and perform basic distance and elevation calculations.
Document field notes, photos, sketches and maintain equipment.
Maintain safety and communicate with crew and contractors on site.
