The St. Johns River Water Management District seeks a field equipment operator at Bayard Field Station, Green Cove Springs, FL. The role supports the Bureau of Land Resources with wildland fire management, fuels work, and land management tasks.

Responsibilities include operating tractors and dozers, conducting surveys, and maintaining access and safety. Requires a high school diploma or GED and a Florida CDL with Tanker endorsement or the ability to obtain within six months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 1 year of natural resource management experience.
• Valid State of Florida Driver’s License required.
• CDL Class A with Tanker endorsement or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain land management equipment under varied conditions for the Bureau of Land Resources.
• Assist with fuels management and restoration projects; operate associated tractors and equipment.
• Support forest and land management projects, wildlife/plant surveys, and boundary maintenance.
• Support security and public recreational needs; maintain parking areas and gates.
