St. Johns River Water Management District is seeking a Land Management Technician to operate and maintain land management equipment in support of the Bureau of Land Resources.

The role emphasizes safe field operations, map interpretation, and collaboration with contractors and public stakeholders. The position requires a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of experience in natural resource management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of experience in natural resource management preferred.
• Ability to read maps and aerial photos and communicate with diverse people.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains land management equipment under various conditions for the Bureau of Land Resources.
• maintains fire management equipment and supports prescribed fire operations.
• Assists with forest and land management projects, including marking and cruising timber, site prep, and reforestation.
• Supports security, public recreation needs, and property upkeep such as parking areas and fences.
