Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have 1 month of work experience as field worker (hand labor).
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Able to use hand tools including cutting knives, shears and long-handled hoes.
• Cannot be color blind due to crop color differentiation.
• Must work in conditions where skin and clothing get heavily soiled.

Responsibilities

• Perform crop cleaning, weeding and thinning on row crop vegetables under supervision.
• Walk uneven furrows and remove unwanted leaves, weeds and debris from beds and seed lines.
• Remove portions of product with a lettuce knife and place in furrow as directed.
• Follow field supervisor instructions and maintain field cleanliness and safety.
