Job summary

Chaney Enterprises is seeking a Quality Control Technician in Henrico, VA. The role covers laboratory and field testing of concrete products, certifying loads to specification, and providing technical guidance to plant personnel across sites.

The position requires frequent travel to company and customer sites, a high degree of technical accuracy, independent judgment, and regular communication with stakeholders. Overtime and Saturday work are required.

Qualifications

• Current, valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Certified Concrete Technician credential, or ability to obtain certification within one year of hire.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills, including addressing and resolving customer complaints and technical concerns professionally.
• Ability and willingness to work up to 65 hours per week and on Saturdays as operational needs require.
• Ability to travel independently to various company plant sites and customer locations on a regular basis.

Responsibilities

• Performs specimen testing of concrete from random loads, special jobs, and unique mix designs; prepares test reports per requirements.
• Conducts aggregate and batch plant testing, including daily gradation and moisture tests for state/specification projects.
• Certifies concrete loads delivered to specification jobs per DOT requirements; verifies mixing procedures and documentation.
• Performs QA testing on trial batches of new mix designs; analyzes results and adjusts until compliant.
• Executes laboratory tests including gradation, moisture, and specific gravity analyses on aggregates.
